Emma Brown
Creative Director
It’s Emma’s name over the pink front door that the team works behind.
With a natural affinity for great design and organised process-driven systems, Emma created her full-service studio to specialise in architectural & interior design + construction project management for residential and commercial projects.
With years of experience in building and design, Emma’s style has been described as beautiful, bold, and unique. You can find her work featured in Your Home and Garden, Habitat Magazine, Houzz, Archipro, Horowhenua Chronicle, Women in Business Collaboration, VIDASPACE website, Stuff and Property Weekly.
When Emma’s not in the studio, you will find her out walking, cooking up a storm for her family, or curled up by the fire with a good book.
Michelle Jurgens
Project Manager - Business
With a substantial background in project management, Michelle works with Emma and the EBD team to bring your design, renovation, new build or commercial fit out aspirations to life.
From pricing spreadsheets to on-site renovation project management, Michelle's right at home in this diverse, ever-evolving role.
Outside EBD, Michelle co-leads ‘Women & Business’ with Emma, is actively involved in (and a spectator at) all the different sports and activities her three children are into, and also assists in fundraising efforts at her youngest child’s primary school.
Kirk Brough
Project Manager - Construction
Kirk brings over 25 years of construction experience in residential new builds, renovations and commercial fit-outs to the Emma Brown Design team.
He spends his days managing tradies, assisting with technical advice, communicating with clients, arranging projects, specifications and logistics.
When Kirk’s not on-site or in the EBD studio, you will find him walking the fairways at Manawatu Golf Club.
Sarah Cheetham
Architectural Designer
Sarah has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters in Interior Architecture, her LBP Design AOP 2 licence, and is also a member of Architectural Designers New Zealand.
She has industry experience having worked within residential and commercial realms and has a real knack for interpreting our client's design dreams and bringing those to reality.
Her knowledge in construction and joinery bring added value to the Emma Brown Design team.
When Sarah’s not in the EBD studio, you can catch her out for walks with her partner, toddler and dogs - or renovating her 1910 villa.
Ebony Giesen
Architectural Technician
Ebony has a Diploma in Architectural Technology, with over six years of industry experience across residential and commercial.
She has a love for the small details and thrives on the joy of turning peoples visions into reality. With a family background in the trades, her love for building and creating has always been a part of her DNA.
When Ebony's not in the EBD studio, you can find her on outdoor adventures with her family or renovating their house.
Hannah Thomas
Spatial Designer
Hannah has a Bachelor of Design majoring in Spatial Design and is our resident Spatial Designer.
She is passionate about creating beautiful and functional spaces that reflect our clients personal style and enrich the lives of those experiencing them.
Hannah works closely with Emma and the team to help make the most out of a space and bring clients dreams to life.
When Hannah is not at the studio, you will find her walking along the beach, out in her vege garden or cooking something delicious.
Michelle Middleton
Studio Manager
Michelle is the studio manager at Emma Brown Design. She'll be your first point of contact and is happy to answer any of your questions.
She works to support Emma and the team, has a love of interior design and organised spaces and keeps our studio looking gorgeous and organised.
Outside of work, Michelle will be spending time with her family, jet setting around the world with her love of travel and making endless music playlists for all to enjoy.
