Take five with Emma Brown

It’s Emma’s name over the pink front door that the team works behind. We ask her a few questions to get to know her better.

A question worth asking:

How do your spaces at home make you feel?  For me, it’s important that the spaces in my home spark joy and that are places I love to be in. I’m an introvert at heart and it’s a must for me to have a space that I’m able to recharge my batteries at the end of the day. This was paramount when designing my own home and I took into consideration the way colour, texture and soft furnishings made me feel. 

A concept worth understanding:

Work/life balance is something that I am working hard to achieve in 2023. It’s easy to get lost in working every available hour, however as much as EBD is a huge priority in my life (I live and breathe my clients dreams!),  it’s equally as important to me to have time for both myself and those that I love. My children are no longer babies and are growing so fast - I want to soak every last bit of them up.  I’m also slowly learning the art of being productive, not just busy being busy. 

An activity worth doing:

The Manawatu Gorge walk is hands down my favorite activity. Located only 15 mins from Palmerston North City in picturesque bush, it’s totally achievable for all ages and fitness levels. I love to head up there, listen to a podcast and clear my head.  If you haven’t checked it out, add it to your list. 

A book worth reading:

I absolutely love books, and you will often find me lost in both cookbooks and novels. On my kitchen bench currently, you will find a new cookbook, ‘Simple Fancy’, by the very clever Two Raw Sisters. Recipes from this book are on high rotation in our house. I’m also re-reading The Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley in anticipation of the final book being released this year.
